I'm back working on a project I started a while ago with a friend of mine.
We met in Ghana a few years ago and shared a house together with some wonderful canadians (are there even any evil canadians?)
His name is Craig and he's hosting a beer-site which I
found out about a few months ago.
I asked him for an idea of a commercial slogan. So I just threw the very base of ''martian beer'' at him and he came up with this goodie:
Here's his facebook site:
Right after that I started animating and... I quite overdid things there
The quality of my animation was not sufficient.
I modeled the head section of Curiosity rather quickly
The final animation felt odd then
(just to mention it again)
So I restarted and modeled new stuff.
I also made use of some NASA models and my astronaut model
Next up I decided to make a spacecraft and was easily inspired by the film ''The Martian'' and its absolutely brilliant VFX.
So I started modeling
Next up I renderd a preview
( I like previews! OKAY!?! )
I had to put the project on a hold though and to concentrated a bit more on the full film and the Saloon Scene renders and finding voice overs.
But now that I'm back at it.
The feedback was overwhelming
So I set back down on my ''a and double s'' and textured a bit in substance painter (awesome program) and painted a heightmap + normalmap
For the process I used my collection of alphatextures which are available for free, alongside Jonas Ronnegards collection and just simply outlining indents and outdents.
Here are some links for both:
Next up I went back to animating and compositing.
And this is where I'm at now.
Just another artists from Berlin working on establishing a film studio to finance the daily pizza and beer
